Thoughts as I went along:
- Please shoot Beacock for me. I forgot he was a major reason I never finished the English language of the game. I personally would have loved an equal shout out to the original VA (who played a major kid's character in the same tone) and had him try to voice it like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny. That would have been an equally traumatizing experience I'd say.
- Well, at least Spike didn't skimp out on budget this time and gave NIS a decent amount of money to work with. Again, VAs killed the first translation for me...this one actually seems pretty good.

I'm... actually not as traumatized on the voices, this time. I would like to see if Fatogami's voice changed at all, and they skipped over Souda and Komaeda, but otherwise everything was pretty spot-on, in my opinion. Gundam sounded a bit too deep, maybe, but fuck you he's Gundam.

...If only I hadn't already read LPs of this game. Or if I even owned a Vita...

Anyway, if you liked the first game, you'll probably love this one, too. Whereas the cases and incentives in the first game were moderately realistic, in the sequel, everything's quite a bit more over the top. The first execution is a great example of this- remember that clip in the trailer of a helicopter shooting a barrage of missiles? Yep. Overall, the feel of the game was almost more cartoony with some of the stuff it pulled while still being pretty depressing at points, which really matched Monokuma's nonchalant attitude about the whole mutual killing thing.

Edit: Just checked the first trailer and heard Komaeda's voice. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but... Well, it's better than DR1, I suppose, and if we're being honest, I'm well aware of the Japanese voices and yet I didn't hate the English ones.

Seriously though, please at least put SOME kind of spoiler warning. For these kinds of games it's best to go in without knowledge of what the game is like, IMO. Now I'm kind of tainted with all your opinions/thoughts on what the game was like and how it feels and I know I'm not going to enjoy it as much having those expectations and thoughts constantly reverberating in my mind as I play it. ._.

Oh, sorry. I tried to keep actual spoilers out of it, but I didn't think saying a bit about the mood based off the trailer would count. My bad, I'll tag that up and be sure to do the same in the future.

it's alright, but for me every little bit of pre-knowledge can affect my first impression, and since it's story-heavy/I'm looking forward to the game im just a bit more sensitive about said knowledge/thoughts/whatever ;/

A bit late but THE GAME IS OUT

I haven't had much time to play it but it's pretty good (as expected), can't wait to get more into it. such a dark and grueling game QQ

I don't think an anime adaptation has been announced yet, I don't know how well the first one did but it probably somewhat depends on that. I imagine if they're going to do one it'll be announced within the next year, probably earlier though considering how long the game has been out in Japan

I'd throw Makoto, Mukuro, and Sayaka way higher up on my hypothetical Danganronpa list though (unfortunately I'm not great at favorites/feel bad about making a clear distinction of "I like X character more than Y character" and such so I'll just make comments on such things, and not my own lists, haha)

I'm pretty cool with this portion of the order but I'd probably put Fuyuhiko (the Yakuza dude IIRC) above Ibuki... also throw Nagito the crazy dude out the window, he's not my type of likable character lol
