Can't use Nightmare anymore?

That's when the weird stuff started.
Trying to edit TLP, all the character values and stuff in the character editor are 0 for some reason, and nothing is different from FE7's normal chapter items and classes and levels and whatever. I figured maybe it's because it's the most recent version of TLP and Blazer did some hacking magic or whatever to make it uneditable through Nightmare.
So then I tried to edit the normal FE7, except then when I tried to load a module nothing would actually show up. Well the boxes and stuff did, but the stats and even being to edit anything didn't. They're all blank, no zeroes, no names. Not even white.
Then I messed around with some portraits in TLP using FEditor to replace some unit's portraits as to make using them easier(because I don't play Fire Emblem to use ugly units /bigot) after installing Java again (apparently I have had this computer for over a year now and only JUST realized Java wasn't on the machine...)
and then when I tried to Nightmare again...
"an unnamed file was not found"
wut?
Then I tried opening any other FE7 rom (these are all copies of the same file, some of them messed around with, some not)
So I looked that up and something to do with moving and modules being unlinked and whatever but I don't think that's the problem here, as I tried restarting my computer and the problem persisted.
Then I removed Nightmare from my computer, got a fresh FE7 ROM out of the .rar file, and redownloaded the modules and Nightmare. But the problem's still there.
I don't know if this is a Windows 8.1 thing, a "these are all files I moved from my XP" thing, or if my virus protection somehow messed around with my Fire Emblem files or something, but I'm unable to make sense of anything.
EDIT:It seems that for some reason this problem doesn't exist with my FE8 or FE6, which just makes it even stranger.

I'm not sure I can help or if this makes sense (Nightmare is nothing more than a way for me to put story to code) but it sounds like it's a problem with preferences or how Nightmare was asked to interact with code interpretation. Does this problem exist with Nightmare 2.0?

I tried moving it to my XP computer and while it didn't have the complete problem, this much still did:

Tried downloading a new ROM too, same issue.

Mind screencapping the last part though? I'm not sure how this is possible unless Nightmare is smart enough to remember settings.
As per Nightmare 2, isn't it just a java file? Open "dist" in Nightmare 2's files, then "Nightmare 2.jar".

Anyway it seems that it mysteriously works now. While I'm not a fan of never finding out how to fix a problem, I guess that's that for the topic.
The thing with 0 values is still happening with TLP, but I guess I'll just use the same team I did last time and ditch the whole "actually use other characters" thing.
