Out of curiousity, what past roleplay experiences have people had?
I participated in an AIM roleplay once... XD Otherwise it's been either the first Ragnarok Tournament, the 2nd Ragnarok Tournament (going on now), or practice RPs/things that are just for lulz or whatever.
And YOU?!!!!

Anyways, there was an RP section there where people just came up with ideas for RPs, made up rules for it, and people joined, and then they RPed. The RP section is really what made the site last so long, really. A bunch of us stayed there just to RP. Eventually, someone made a site (which has also pretty much died DX) for just RPing. ZTV then lost a lot of activity...
I liked that setup more than this one, really. Although it helped to have a larger member base. There were enough people to have a bunch of different RPs going on, while here, it would be difficult to make a bunch of RPs that enough people would be interested in and have time to do.

Seriously, it's great to have you on the forums!
@Blood, real life RPing? How in the world does that work? You get some swords and start dueling each other in some forest? >_>

Eventually this stopped because my grandfather liked to use the sticks to keep his plants nice and straight.
Then I joined an RP on a dead forum. It was Fire Emblem based and a large base of the characters were a bit overpowered....so I rolled bard.
A few other times were Legend of Zelda based, Fate Stay Night based, and Code Geass based but those all died.
One was a battle royale type where you could make a character or choose an existing one. I chose the young Walter C. Dorneaz...since picking Alucard would be too haxed.
I attempted to make a system for Tales of series based RP but I just couldn't do it. So my NPC character became Kuoni Wergild.
It's been ages since I've last RPed so...

If you train your already good sense of proportion and get a better sense of shading and coloring... ...you really have great odds of being the next great customer around this forums and even FEND, congrats. :3

So yeah, I'm familiar with RPing...
Though a little heads up, since I'm working on my project, I tend to put my character into an overpowered (DBZ-like) state. It's become a habit from my project...
So if I may do something as like my character just doesn't seem to die at all, do tell me.

My first RP was when I was in 6th grade. My school actually had a club and we would go there and RP to a story. It was actually really fun. Though it was like half RP and half game.

Been roleplaying on a forum for two years on the 30th, and all in all for a grand total of about five years on and off various forums.

I've done a lot of RPing in various forms, but very little online. I'm sort of a lightweight when it comes to LARPs and long, drawn-out forum RPs, but I have given both a shot (I even ran a LARP once).
I do a good amount of tabletop RPing, since a lot of my friends and colleagues are big into storytelling, and like to test their stories with real people. We have a few really solid gold GMs where I live, and they'll run massive "West Marches" games, which are open-world sandbox tabletop games. I've worked in all kinds of systems (World of Darkness; D&D 1e, 3.5, Next; Anima Prime; Shadowrun; Fiasco; Think, Do, Talk; &c.), and done a good bit of homebrewing for most of those.
I actually came to this forum because of a budding FE8 tabletop port that I'm co-developing the rules for. It's cool stuff.
RPing is really time consuming, though, and really requires a tightly-knit group to work out in the long-term. I'm usually in it for the story.
