In the sense that FE: IS is similar to the community hack. But no, this is different. Well, guys, you know know about the prologue only patch for my hack that I released right? Well, I'm starting the hack over because I haven't been hacking in months because summer break, and I've been trying my hand at writing and my hack wasn't going anywhere in terms of originality. So, yeah, things like no individual promotion items, I'll probably (most likely) bring weapons to near-FE13 standards (yeah, I know it's horrible, but all classes are getting boosts parallel to the item stats going up). Also,I'll try to get rid of the individual magics and have it all in one like FE9 and later and using the specific weapon lock thingy-a-mo-bob, lock dark tomes to shamans and druids. I'll try to get story snippets for you guys and have you judge them. (Because I'm taking an apocalyptic start to this hack, not like TEB's FE7 Zombie hack, but just a network of knights, and because I have no memory whatsoever about the ranks used in Fire Emblem except Captain, probably Commander, definitely General, you guys are gonna have to help me on that part. DX.) Anyways, yeah, on a separate note, I hope that there will be FEE3 next year... Also, accepting character submissions (not really, just character suggestions, but characters and personalities and classes and such, not custom classes, those will be decided on my whims.) Hope to see you guys with updates!

include an anti-hero, someone with a super exotic personality, maybe a sadist... it's cooler to me to see people who don't conform to personalities based around their class on social status alone lol

What I meant Snow, is like in FE11, FE12, and FE13 there are only tomes to represent the three magics. BUT, just like FE13, no light magic in my hack, just anima and dark magic. And because we all know the dark mages can use any tomes and all that crap with reg mages.

I have some knowledge on the feudal rank structure. And if you want your hack based on modern ranks, this Guardsman knows all those. PM if you need anything with that.

Oh sure Blazer. But maybe i'll ask about that considering that i planned some part of the hack to be at sea.

Well, here's a little bit of text as i promised. It's just a little prologue that i hope to extend on.

"All was peaceful on the continent of Dreyanos. That was until half a decade ago. In the middle of this chaos, the country of Milvers tried to gather forces to combat this chaos. It was all for naught as its men came back either dead brought by its own troops or one of the undead."

Hmm. Going to be honest, it seems a little cliche. "There was peace, then there was random unexplained destruction." Maybe try to develop the chaos a little more? Not trying to offend you, just trying to give a small suggestion based on what you said. The idea of undead could be good since even though it's been done a lot in other places it hasn't really been done much in FE (I mean, people turning into undead--it was kinda done in FE13 and there were like, zombie monsters in FE8 but having people turn into zombies wasn't done much... unless that's what Project Z/Zombie Apocalypse does lol).

No I see where u're going with this. But yeah, I know that it is very cliched. That's way I was kinda asking what the people think about it. But yeah, like I said it's just an overview, I'll go into it more in the actual hack, considering that I can actually remember how to properly code events. And I never did play TEB Project Z so I wouldn't know.

UPDATE! (Not really, small-ish update) So after some learning in school and inspirational reading and writing, I'M BRINGING BACK SOME HISTORY INTO THIS HACK! Expect something along the feudalism/Middle Ages period mixed in with some "witchcraft" (i.e. dark magic is witchcraft because it's dark magic and anima is considered witchcraft because no magic of any kind except "holy" magic can and should be done by God and the clergymen etc.) This thread is getting old and i really need to do some "spring cleaning". Central idea is still the same with the dead coming back.

Hey. I've been doing over a year of nothing but character writing and "theory-ing" out how the mechanics work in my heat. Seriously. I started thinking "I really should just use mostly OCs..." back in May and have detailed mental notes on every PC up until Vaida at the moment. People should have the right to work at half the speed of smell

i'll never get why anyone intentionally changes the magic system even as an idea in GBAFE mods

even if the benefit of anima magic getting its own magic triangle within itself is successfully implemented (and I personally just found that kind of annoying...it also tends to have the consequence of making anima magic way more common than the other two or just the other magical categories, which tends to get boring)

something tells me almost EVERYONE that makes an indie game which actually cares about characterization does that

People totally have the right to be "thinkers" who just make ideas and don't ever get very far with them for whatever reasons (procrastination, laziness, lack of skills, perfectionism, poor priorities, not enough time...). Just don't expect people to pay attention to you or value those ideas at all until they are something.

I fully realize that. But I don't like the idea of making flat characters, even in a game where you can skip them/kill them/use them without even noticing that side.

That, plus I now have a huge database to pull up for other projects.

well, as long as you realize it haha.

Flat characters are in fact generally pretty boring and don't help build depth to whatever sort of project etc. it is haha. Unless them being so boring is actually what makes them interesting lol--I know someone who sort of has a very uh... average and boring and almost ideal life--at least from what he told me--and it was sort of like "wow I'm pretty sure most people don't have things go this smooth, this is like a fairy tale" haha.

that's also awesome haha, the fact that you have a database is actually really interesting to me, not only do I not have the patience for something like that but also I think it'd be cool to compare characters more often and see what similarities they have etc... I've created so many OCs in my time and I'm sure I'd pick up a thing or five on my writing/OC habits and maybe other habits if I did (though I usually try to distinguish my characters while making them have personalities that hold to their experiences at least somewhat, while still making them unique enough that every character who ever lost their parents doesn't act the exact same--after all there are different ways of turning out after various life-changing experiences and I'm personally a fan of silly gags/funny traits etc. that give characters a bit of life or personality).

Preetty sure this counts as necroposting, but i got an idea: because of procrastination (and lack of ideas for characters), I'l just ask for characters that you guys just want to throw at me. With the works obviously... names, classes (no special classes obviously), growth rates (if you guys want to be meticulous), best stats, average stats, and bad stats, personalities, nature (that symbol on the help page that tells what nature a character is, if that makes sense), relations with other characters (if, again, you guys want to be meticulous and coordinate this on one) and some other stuff i can't think about... see you guys later.
