Might as well put this her too, eh?

So... I've been working on this for over a year now. I never really got around to putting up a showcase for it, and I don't know why, but I just felt like making one today.

You can call this whatever you want, really. SephFE, FE4 Resurrection, another decent FE8 hack.

(At the behest of those who said I showed too much of the final chapter off, here's a new compilation)


QUICK NOTE: Die hard fans of FE4 will crucify me for this Story I've got set-up. This is a fan hack, not trying to make anything canon here, just having fun.

This hack is basically a "sequel" to FE4. It takes place 400 years after the last holy war, with Loptous being defeated and such. Alvis strikes from Chalphy, where he's currently residing (or at least his resurrected self is), into the heart of Dozel, along with Yulius (you can't keep a good bad guy down). They kill Langobart, who's been kept alive by the Swanchika's holy powers after barely surviving the battle at Barhara. He's quickly taken out by the army of Chalphy, lead by Yulius while Alvis stands there looking pretty.

Nicki, the princess of Dozel at this time, escapes along with Trent (the Knight Commander of Dozel) to Freege. Seph, the other main character, is in Chalphy at this time, and knows nothing of the invasion.

It follows FE8 linearity for the most part, with new bosses and a different story, as well as new classes, characters, and awesome icons by my bud Lord Glenn.

I've added my own characters, and some cameos. I've got most of the Aesthetics done for it, and the only thing that really needs work are the maps, the events, and the story itself.

I'm happy with my work, but I'd like the opinion of everyone here.

I've been working with NagafenofIvalice, Lord Glenn, MK404, and some other people here and there on this whole thing.

I don't want to release a patch until I finish it, though if some people want to beta play it for me, send me a message and I'll think about it.

Any critique/opinions/thoughts are welcome, and wanted.

Is it just me or are the pictures not ugly fuzzy anymore? Did you actually take my advice and fix all of them? O_O

Well anyway, I already said what I wanted to about this... I appreciate you posting it. If you want I can advertise your hack on the mainsite too. It's not shamelessly advertising my site here because this is my site, haha...

But I was also thinking of making a random javascript object that will randomly show one of the hacks and a member can click on it to go to that hack's page. It'd be pretty slick and it'd make the site more interesting I think. XD

Oh noez I'm spamming your topic... so uh, I need to ask, if I haven't finished FE4 will I totally miss out on the plot of this story? Or can I still follow along even without knowing FE4's story?

And, it would help to know the FE4 story, but I'm pretty sure you wont get lost.

The Javascript random flashing idea actually sounds really fun, and would give A LOT of people some needed publicity. Go for it!

^It's possible you did it to be "unique" because there was a time period that a lot of people were hacking FE7 and so then people were like "eh everybody's making an FE7 hack so I'll make an FE8 one" and then yeah. Ace, MK, and FurryYunSeoung transferred to FE8. Xeld, NL and I stick to FE7.

I only don't hack FE8 because I don't feel like learning anything new about hacking. I'd rather just hack super fast without things impeding my progress.

No, I honestly do like FE8... When I'm playing it on hard without using Valni or the Arena.

I think the story is fine, but the game should have been longer.

I'm hacking it because I like the branching path idea though.

You could hack FE7 to have branched paths too, unless you're talking about promotions... lol

Uh, I iz a little confused about what you're talking about, so I'll just go over everything...

Branched promotions = already in FE8, not in FE7
Branched paths = already in FE6, somewhat-already in FE7, already in FE8, and can be expanded/hacked in any of the 3 games via events

Wow, branched paths are in FE6 and 7? If I'd known that, I would have hacked FE7 first. Damn.

Well, um, branched paths is just a choice between two possible chapters for a chapter, right? IIRC there are different possibilities for chapter 25 in FE7, and through hacking events you could expand on that idea to have different playable characters and make the player have a choice of which route they'd go (instead of it being based off of other factors).
