Xin hovered over the arena which the first of the second round fights would take place. It was simple in design, being that it was a 300 yard (900ft.) diameter circle with rocks. These rocks were very different from normal rocks however. These rocks range from being extremely small to giagantic. This caused the arena to look like a valley ridden cliffside. In addition, wind in this arena would pick up every 2 minutes for 30 seconds, resulting in a hail of rocks flying every which way. This was to make sure teh combatants would think out each of the moves, as they had a very short time to act on the moves before the next wind storm.

The crowd sat above the arena in a floating platform that rotated slowly, although there were stairs to see below the arena through a 1 one way window into the cracks and fjords.

Xin hovered over the arena and boomed with his voice, "The second round of the Ragnarok Tournament will now start. On each side of this arena is a cave where either Asvel or Volug is waiting. Once they leave the cave, it will seal shut, but they leave any time they want to."

Xin then boomed louder then normal, "Fighters, start!"

((These crevices can be anywhere from 20 feet deep to 2 inches. Based on body type, I would think that Asvel could take 4-5 full windstorms, and Volug 7-8. These rocks being thrown around would be the equivalent of a baseball pitcher throwing a medium size rock at your gut, so fighting during the windstorm is not suggested. Arrows and projectiles will also be affected by the wind.))

Asbel walked into the arena slightly more confident than usual. He had practiced some powerful lunges and thrusts to be used against his enemy Goliath. Normal cutting wind wouldn't have much effect against a mountain like Volug, except perhaps as a distraction.

Due to some complications in previous matches, Asvel had had plenty of time to rest.

His confidence soon waned, however, as his opponent came through the arena doors on the opposite side.

Keough snapped awake, and realized that the battle he was watching had been postponed. He slowly stood up, stretching out his newly healed leg. "That heal staff took a bit longer then normal... Sure did a good job, though..." Keough thought to himself, then walked over to see the next match, making a short stop at his room to grab a partly finished new creation that he'd been working on while he was recuperating.

The goliath had all but disapeared in the previous rounds, not bothering to observe. He had his own reasons. He had sat in the cave, alone waiting for the signal. His helmet donned, he grinned underneath hit, smiling wide at the arena.

"Home." He muttered happily to himself as he stepped out on to the rocky surface. He raised his axe above his head as though the fight had already been decided.

"VOOOOOOLUUUUUUG!" The Goliath shouted as he whipped his axe to his side. His opponent would be on the opposite side. If this was going to be like his homeland, he imagined the extreme for a battle. He would need to take cover occassionally if that was the case. He began searching, roaming the mountains, in search of his prey.

Asvel looked frantically about. Gigantic rocks limited his vision. Using his wind power as a boost, he jumped high up into the air above most of the rocks, but spotted nothing, due to a large boulder in his path.

"Tch..." he muttered, already annoyed by the rocks. "And this stage is perfect for my enemy rock... I mean, goliath..."

While waiting for his enemy to approach, he tested the strength of these rocks. A quick bullet of wind hit a relatively small rock and broke it into pieces to his surprise. A larger rock and the wind did nothing.

A strong wind and these rocks will start flying... but the bigger rocks, those aren't going anywhere...

Keough looked up from his tinkering at the sound of a loud roar. "Oh, that goliath...? Hope his opponent's prepared." He thought to himself, then spotting the other contestant. "Ah, the air kid. Looks like they're both in their element here." He returned to his tinkering, nearing completion of his suit's... augmentation.


((A high jump thing that attaches to my leg armor isn't too overpowered, right?))

Once again finding his opponent would be an issue. Being loud could have it's benefits, but not before looking around. Several gargantuan rocks, slightly smaller rocks, roughly his height. He began to press into them, an attempt to move them, but to no avail. He decided he'd keep this in mind, if he couldn't move it, the wind couldn't. He began to roam.

"COME OUT COWARD!!!"

Asvel admitted to himself that he was a bit intimidated by the roar. But he felt more confidence with his lance in his hand.

Tch... I guess I should "reveal myself" before he finds me by himself...

Asvel unleashed a quick blast of wind towards the general direction of the opposite door of the arena. It was only something that would get Volug's attention, perhaps. He quickly ran to an opposite side, hiding behind a rock, and waited to ambush Volug. Just in case he needed to, he would jump high and out of the way so that Volug couldn't corner him near a wall.

A bust of wind, a slight whirlwind crashed against a larger rock before dispursing. The sound was fimiliar. Could it be the arena or could it be his opponent, nevertheless it was a distraction.

"YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME CUR!" He roared as he slammed his axe into a nearby rock that was slightly larger than he was, leaving a deep gash in the target of his fustration. He forcefully removed the axe and began to hack away at the bottom of the rock. The metal of his axe was much harder then that of these rocks. With a little effort he found he could easily manipulate it. With this information, he weakened the base and made himself some slight indentions to grip the rock. He the forced all his strength onto the rock and pushed into a larger one, creating a small barrier and more importantly, something to help him get up higher.

What the HECK is that?!

Sounds like Volug is upto something... It's coming from there. Did he not fall for my trap?

Asvel propelled himself upward and looked first at his immediate surroundings for Volug. He saw nothing until he reached the peak of his jump, where he saw two rocks crashed next to each other and a beast-like figure next to them.

"Found you."

Asvel's heart was pacing. The real battle was going to begin now. With that he started running--although probably not much faster than Volug could run--towards his enemy, looking to surprise him.

OOC: There's still like 5-7 seconds of running between Asvel and Volug, and Volug is about to climb onto that rock. Most importantly note that Asvel has NOT attacked Volug yet, is just approaching him. That's all I wanted to point out. XP

OOC: Bump: for whatever reason on the index it still says DH_Ninja was the last person to post, but my post is clearly here, so I'm bumping.

((Blazer, can you contact DH? I don't seem to be able to get ahold of him to tell him to post here. You seem to talk to him more...))

Volug noticed the figure, and then a voice. He drew his bow and didn't bother climbing. He backed down and drew three arrows, knocking them as he waited for his opponent to draw closer.

"Come to Volug." He muttered under his breath. "These arrows will find you."

He was ready to fire at a moment's notice.
