Ok, well, I now have a patch up! (Patch as attachment)

It contains the Prologue, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2

I doubt I will be able to come up with 30 or so other characters, so if you wish, you may make your own mug and send it to me along with information on this characters back story, place in this story, etc.

Also if you wish to submit a portrait for a boss feel free to do so. However this boss must be semi-serious, he/she cannot say things like: "IMA FIRIN' MAH LAZAR" Or anything silly like that. Also, only unimportant bosses are up if you want.

So, it shouldn't be too good, it is only a minor boss (but not cruddy obviously) and as of right now just brigands and bandit-type (the ones that do not have an effect on the storyline much) preferably using FE7's palette (as all the other portraits use FE7's).

No i know exactly how to do mugs, i just thought it was easier to post up the portraits by themselves, that way nobody would steal them either.

But do you think i should put up the whole mugs?

FYI portraits and mugs are pretty much the same thing.

The term for "complete" portraits is "formatted portraits". At least, that's what most people use. A formatted portrait would be what GyppyGirl posted. You just posted the basic portrait/mug, which is fine, there isn't much point in posting everything.

I think it's kinda cool you're making a hack for friends. I hope your friends enjoy your hack, and good luck.

It seems I've hit a roadblock when trying to insert this mug.

(i am aware the blinking frames suck)

Using FEditor adv, it corrupts the portrait above or below it to a fuzzy mess of reds, blues and yellows.

I am wondering if there is a solution to this.

- Portraits have to be 16 colors
- Maybe try looking at a tutorial
- Give a picture of the messed up picture in FEditor Adv
- idk

Hm... I'm not sure. Maybe it's over the color limit (15+background color) or the rom is just corrupt.

And, if you're needing help on palettes, start researching a hex editor, cause you'll need it.

Animations are not my forte.

Woah woah, re-quantisizing? Nuh uh buddy. Do it manually. If the same thing happens, your rom is corrupt. If not, that's why it was happening.

Don't use usenti for that. Your colors will get messed up.

The same thing happens with fresh ROMs so this is the best conclusion i have:

What seems to be the problem is me replacing Florina, so its not the mug, or the ROM, its that I'm replacing Florina, i think that Florina's second mug gets corrupted because her first one no longer exists, and therefore cant display anything.

And everything works now, the sprite, mug, even the chapter that she appears in, so that problem is solved. (I think)

I'm not sure why that'd be a problem because Xeld claims his programs are pretty much flawless (LOL lies) but I'm glad you got it fixed (and I'm sorry I couldn't be any help).

Not bad so far. It seems like you're not doing a ton of edits but that's not a huge problem. What you SHOULD do though is change the battle palette of Lyn so it isn't still green and blue like the original Lyn.

You said you'd randomly accept character submissions, right?

I'm getting there. Palettes might come last. I am going to gradually get the story more and more off track, which is probably best I don't mess things up at the start.
